Description
The She’s Helping to Win WAVES poster
“She’s Helping to Win … how about you? Serve in the Navy … Enlist in the WAVES” is a 1943 World War II recruiting poster by John Falter. A WAVE in dark navy uniform stands on the wing of a blue Navy aircraft, showing a chart on her clipboard to the pilot in the open cockpit. The poster directed women to any Navy Recruiting Station or Office of Naval Officer Procurement.
It celebrates the women of the U.S. Naval Reserve who took on vital jobs in aviation and at shore stations, and makes a fine gift for a Navy veteran or anyone interested in women’s service in World War II.
