Description
The Great Americans Don’t Take Time Off poster
“Great Americans don’t take time off, when our country needs so much, so soon” is a 1943 World War II home-front poster published by the Think American Institute and printed by Kelly-Read & Co. of Rochester, New York, as poster No. 182 in its series. A man and a woman in welding goggles bend over a machine while a column of helmeted soldiers with fixed bayonets advances across the sky behind them. The point was simple: every day on the job at home kept the men at the front supplied.
With its flat, bold colour and clean lettering, it is a striking piece of American industrial history for a workshop, office, garage or den.

Restored edition
Restored from an archival image of an original 1943 poster and rebuilt as a high-resolution 300 dpi print edition. Creases, scuffs and paper wear were removed and the sky blue, orange and cream tones brought back, keeping the lettering crisp at every size.
